Euro 2012 stadiums: Stadion Miejski



Stadion Miejski will be one of the stadium where Euro 2012 match is going to take place. Stadion Miejski is also known as City Stadium of Poznan or simply City Stadium. The place is used mostly for football match and located in the Poznan city, Poland. Before being renovated for Euro 2012, the stadium was used for Lech Poznan and Warta Poznan.

Stadion Miejski or City Stadium of Poznan is located on Bulgarska street, the southwestern part of the city. The capacity of Stadion Miejski is 43,000 seats and this stadium is planned to be the stadium where the finals of Euro 2012 will take place.

The stadium is one of the venues for the UEFA Euro 2012. Three group matches are to be played here

The former name for Stadion Miejski was Stadion Lecha which was built from 1968 – 1980. The Stadion Miejski or Stadion Lecha has been renovated before in 2003. This place with field dimensions amounted 105 x 68 m will one of the most seen and most visited place as the Euro 2012 begins.

Stadion Narodowy is Polish terminology for The National Stadium. This is a football stadium which is planned for the place where Euro 2012 will take place. Currently the National Stadium which located in Warsaw, Poland, is still under construction and placed on the same site with the former stadium which called Stadion Dziesieciolecia.

As one of many stadium which prepared for Euro 2012, Stadion Narodowy or The National Stadium of Warsaw will have a seating capacity for 58,145 people.

The construction work of Stadion Narodowy was started in 2008 and is hoping to be completed by this November 2011. In this Stadion Narodowy, you will see the opening match, a quarterfinal match and a semifinal match of The Euro 2012.

Together with the football field, the Stadion Narodowy will also be the place where many other sports will take place. There are indoor sports with 20,000 capacity, Olympic size swimming pool for 4,000 capacity. Besides those sports arena, The Stadion Narodowy will also be the place for an aquatic park, hotel, conference center and many other service center. However the construction of those facilities in the Stadion Narodowy site will be started after the football arena for Euro 2012 completely built.
